I am so excited at the moment for I have managed to capture comet Lovejoy in the very first photograph that I have every attempted to take of the stars at night.
I was doubly lucky for the weather is quite bad tonight here in Mayo with heavy showers of rain and it is very windy. But for just 20 minutes just after midnight, the rain stopped the wind dropped and the clouds cleared. And there it was… you can just about make it out with the naked eye a very faint green smudge. But wow!
I am going to bed now on cloud nine.
