Storm Crow Monday Moment

storm crows

The dark of night is noticeable extending into the summer daylight. The days are getting shorter, the seasons are changing, and summer is leading to autumn. It was very noticeable this morning here in County Mayo I was up just gone five am and I had to put on a small light in the kitchen which is north facing. I still had my breakfast in the garden, however the sky and the storm crows told me I had not long and true enough within twenty minutes we had a heavy but short downpour.

“Storm Crow” reminds me of Gandalf (due to his habit of bringing bad news) in the wonderful book by J R R Tolkien, The Lord of the Rings. I have not read this book for some time.  I think I will begin to read it again today.

“The way a crow
Shook down on me
The dust of snow
From a hemlock tree

Has given my heart
A change of mood
And saved some part
Of a day I had rued.”
