It is a little chilly but sunny and bright at 7am this May Day here at Haremoon cottage in county Mayo. As it was historical traditional and still is in places in Ireland to give Marsh Marigolds I give you the above photo of Marsh Marigolds, taken this May Day morning too wish well and welcome the summer. Hope you have a good one.
However the weekend it not promised fare, it is to be colder with heavy rain and already the clouds are arriving from the south west. While the raven takes to the wing I head in doors. I might not get out and about this holiday weekend but I have some books to read and will try my hand at some watercolour painting. Whatever you get up to this holiday enjoy it have a great time.
I am a great fan of Jethro Tull take a listen on youtube to his song “Cup of Wonder its great song for a May Day celebration.
…the May Day is the great day, sung along the old straight track.
And those who ancient lines did lay will heed this song that calls them back.
Pass the word and pass the lady, pass the plate to all who hunger.
Pass the wit of ancient wisdom, pass the cup of crimson wonder.
